Celebrity Auction- Gord Bamford

Multiple CMA and CCMA Award winner, Australian born and Alberta raised, Gord Bamford releases his new single today, “Heaven On Dirt” (Anthem Records). The “home is where your heart is” power ballad embraces Country storytelling and reflects on the feeling of finding your true joy in life. Penned by Jason Lee Owens Jr., Philip Eugene O'Donnell, Casey Beathard and Jenee Fleenor “Heaven On Dirt” projects Bamford’s signature sound that has elevated him to the top of the Country singles chart and offers a glimpse of what is to come off from his forthcoming album “Diamonds In a Whiskey Glass” due to be released early in June 2021. Previous accolades include the recognition he received for his eighth studio album Neon Smoke (2018) which produced the smash #1 chart-topper "Dive Bar". In 2016, "Tin Roof" received the honour of CCMA' Album of The Year'. Gord celebrated his first #1 hit song, 'When Your Lips Are So Close' in 2013. Gord's self-named charity, The Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation, has generated over $4.2 million. In the fourteen years of operation, it has supported over 63 children's charities across Canada.

Dan Davidson is one of Canada’s most well-known independent country acts. With 6 CCMA nominations, 10 ACMA award wins, a gold record, and a #1 iTunes Country album he has been able to build undeniable momentum. He’s toured with acts like Gord Bamford, Chase Rice, Jon Pardi, and Brett Kissel on his record breaking 100+ show tour in 2019. Dan’s single “Roll With It” (featuring The Road Hammers) recently went top 20 in Australia. You can check him out on tour in Canada and Europe in 2021 and 2022!

Rob played 10 years in the NHL with his best season being in 88/89 with the Pittsburgh Penguins when he finished 5th in league scoring with 49 goals and 115 points. He was Canada Junior player of the year in 86/87 and still holds the WHL record for points in a season with 212 with the Kamloops Blazers. Rob won Gold with Team Canada at the 1989 World Junior Championships. Rob currently lives in St Albert with his wife and twins and does radio for the Edmonton Oilers broadcasts.

Celebrity Auction- Davey Shields Jr.

Davey Shields has been on the pro-rodeo circuit since 1995. His specialty was Bareback Riding. He has won at the Calgary Stampede, and has been the Canadian Bareback riding champion multiple times.

Central Alberta and Caroline’s own Pete Vandermeer

Pete played four years in the Western Hockey League for the Red Deer Rebels. 

After which he enjoyed a 15 year professional hockey career that included time in the United Hockey League, the East Coast Hockey League, the American Hockey League, and the National Hockey League. Primarily know for his rambunctious style of play and amassing ungodly amounts of penalty minutes, he is also known as a great dancer, champion home jeopardy player, and for his incredible sense of humour and disproportionately large shoe size. Pete and his beautiful wife Mandy own and operate Vandermeer Ventures in Sylvan Lake , Alberta. Vandermeer Ventures includes interests in firewood supply and delivery as well as hotshot trucking thru out Alberta and beyond. Together Pete and Mandy have 5 children and are very active coaching, mentoring, and cheering on minor hockey, baseball and girls fastball in Sylvan Lake and Central Alberta. 

And 1 more thing, Pete is a 4 time winner of the Gord Bamford Charity Golf Classic. This tournament.

Celebrity Auction- Lisa Dodd

Lisa Dodd hails from the Hanna area. Lisa is an 4 time CCMA Award winning bass player who plays in Gord's band. She is the first and only female to win the CCMA award for Bass Player of the Year, repeating that honor in 2015 and was awarded the musician of the year designation in 2016 from the Association of Country Music in Alberta. This is Lisa's 10th year performing at the GB Charity Golf Classic.

Celebrity Auction- Alysia Rissling

Alysia began bobsled in the fall of 2012 after graduating from the University of Alberta, where she played 5 years of Pandas Basketball, with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. After one season as a brakemen, she took to the driving seat and progressed from the provincial program to the National team.

Alysia’s bobsleigh career highlights include multiple gold medals on the North America’s cup tour, as well as the overall points total champion in the 2014/15 season. She has a bronze medal in a World Cup race, and has finished 6th place twice at the World Championships, including 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. She was part of a history making moment that caught international headlines in 2015 when she became the first woman to ever pilot a 4 man sled in an international race with a crew of all women.
